Our Story
Troy & Chelsea Young live in Fallbrook with the three youngest of their six children. Having spent many years frustrated by the public school education system, they chose to pull their children out and have spent the last three years homeschooling. During this time, Chelsea discovered her love of teaching. In her quest to find the best learning strategies for her own children, she stumbled upon Acton Academy. With Troy's passion for ministry and entrepreneurial spirit, combined with Chelsea's devotion to education, they knew right away they wanted to bring the Acton learning model together with a Christ-Centered worldview education to the beautiful town of Fallbrook.

History of Monserate
The Monserate nomenclature has a rich and vibrant origin. Monserate Mountain was first named in 1795, by a Spanish soldier on an expedition for new mission sites. He named the mountain Monserate because it reminded him of Montserrat, a craggy mountain in his native province of Catalonia, Spain.
Later, in 1846, Rancho Monserate was the name of the 13,322-acre Mexican land grant gifted to Ysidro Alvarado by California governor Pio Pico. The gift was in honor of Alvarado's many years of loyal military service. Rancho Monserate is said to have been named for an ancient monastery in Monserrate, Spain near Barcelona.
Fallbrook is now located in the area originally known as Rancho Monserate. The name Monserate appears on various streets in the Fallbrook area such as Monserate Hill and Monserate Mountain Trail. The name has also been lovingly adopted by many local businesses honoring Fallbrook's unique history.
In keeping with the Monserate tradition of honoring military service, we offer discounted tuition for active military and first responders.
